Ami was successful in defending his title (which he doesn't really have!) in his second Hamster Ball Derby. There were fewer competitors this time and Ami was the only repeat runner, as far as I could tell. He won for the Syrian group, of which there were only three. He then ended up getting the blue ribbon for "Fastest Hamster" in a run-off with a really fast dwarf.

Woo Hoo!!!! Great job Ami!!!!
Congratulations Ami! You go girl, uh, guy!
Congrats on your win! I found your blog through a google search of the hamster derby.
My hamster, Austin (a proud calico mixed breed[as far as I can tell]), raced yesterday and took first overall.
Congrats! I bet it feels great to defend a title.
Congrats, Ami. Now I bet you get extra broccoli, huh?
@justJENN: You know, I almost wrote "dwarf hamster" because I thought someone might get the wrong idea, but I felt like I'd overused the word in my post.
Good job AMI!!!!
Hurray Ami!!
Great Job Ami,and Jodi, on the win... I'd never heard of hamster races before, till my editor sent me to shoot the one here for the paper...it was hillarious, four photographers from local papers crawling around on the floor, shootin lil hamsters in plastic balls...was a blast..
