National Poetry Month: Haiku A Day #6
Galco's Soda Pop Stop is hands-down one of my favorite places in L.A. We hadn't been for a while, so stopped in yesterday. One of the things I love is that there is always something new, or at least something I never noticed. It's like a treasure hunt and discovery trip all in one.
This is what caught my eye yesterday and inspired today's haiku:

National Poetry Month: Haiku A Day #5
Shot a 3D film
My dog has gone Hollywood
Will he be a star?

Okay, so it was a friend's indie short film (yes, in 3D) and Rusty was a last minute replacement for his dog who ended up going out of town. Rusty was a good sport, until the slate spooked him and he left the set! He was easily coaxed back on with food though and the show went on.

National Poetry Month: Haiku A Day #3
Today's haiku is kind of random. Something caught my eye and I snapped a photo. Hey, I never said these posts would be good or even make sense!

National Poetry Month: Haiku A Day #1
It's that time of year
National Poetry Month
Will you celebrate?
April is National Poetry Month. To celebrate, and to have some easy blog fodder, I plan to post a haiku a day. Since one of the goals of NPM is to "Encourage increased publication, distribution, and sales of poetry books," I'll pimp my self-published books of poetry too.
My books are aimed at fairly niche audiences, but if you aren't into rodents yourself, they make great gifts for those who are. Both books feature original photographs with accompanying poems. Hamster Haiku and Squirrel Sonnets and other Rodent Rhymes are available online by clicking the links. Otherwise, if you'd like one autographed, you can order directly from me, I'll sign it, and ship it for FREE.
*For a chance to win a copy of the book of your choice, leave a comment in haiku format. At the end of April, if I have at least 2 participants, my favorite will win the book of their choice.
